Last night in Ottawa, I attended the Government of Canada’s 2024 Black History Month Official Celebration and Gala.
I met Deputy Prime Minister & Minister of Finance (The Honourable Chrystia Freeland), The Speaker of the Canadian House of Commons (The Honourable Greg Fergus), The Chair of the Liberal Black Caucus in the Canadian House of Commons (The Honourable Arielle Kayabaga), The Mayor of the City of Brampton (Mayor Patrick Brown), and other dignitaries.
It was an amazing opportunity to also connect with so many leaders doing amazing work in different Nigerian and African communities across Canada, and to meet with other top government officials.
I need to come back to properly visit and enjoy the sights and sounds of the capital city soon.
