No cheating. No Googling. No Grok
Guess the missing player in this line up.
Hint: Chelsea line up that disciplined Arsenal in the Europa League final in 2019.
Level: Easy
I was watching a one the WC match , can't remember the game, and commentator, said there actually no need for the hydration break because most players won't take the water anyways and that during injuries to players they can use that opportunity to take whatever water they want.
I have never paid real attention to the hydration break at the FIFA World Cup until yesterday's game between the Netherlands and Sweden
Sweden might have lost 5-1 but it doesn't tell the full story
Before the first hydration break, the Netherlands ran two nil up with four shots to Sweden's one but after the hydration break, momentum change
Sweden had eight shots, the Dutch had one
Sweden did everything to score a goal before the end of the first half to bring themselves back to the game
Dutch goalkeeper, Bert Verbruggen was called to action and made saves
The commentator kept mentioning, the hydration break has changed the game
It was crazy....
It just dawned on me that the hydration break could be a card for teams trying to get their foot in the game
One rest and every could change
I also don't like it!
@jacksonugonnaya@Hardjeyyy Check ur skills when u play 5-a-side and if u join a team that has a coach, they can identify the perfect position for u. But it's possible u will try out multiple positions until u see the one that fits u.
How can a normal thinking human being compare 5-a-side to 11-V-11???
Just one run in 11-V-11, your eye would start turning on its own.
You may be a pro in 5-a-side, but the day you steps into a standard football pitch for 11-V-11, you may need grace of God to complete 30 minutes.
Na set them dey play, 5mins them dn remove their set. Them dn go rest. Na why them go gas when them enter big pitch, come dey gas come reason say e hard.
Unfit and play 5-a-side? Maybe if itโs with fellow unfit players. The thing is, Iโm not entirely sure some of you have actually played proper football and I donโt mean Saturday morning monkey post. If you have ever played with players who are fit while you are unfit, you will sub yourself in less than ten minutes.
Adingra called for this pass.
That's how people ask for opportunities they never prepare to receive.
He called for that pass. Pepe was so brilliant in the execution of that pass that he opened his body up brilliantly and laid it with the perfect weight, timing and direction.
If Adingra took a shot and it was blocked, that'll be understandable but not taking a shot meant that his head was in a thousand places. He lacked the single-mindedness that makes attackers become match winners.
Many attackers there only have one thing on their minds the moment they ask for the ball. Shoot!
His run was good. His body shape was what let him down. He lacked trust in his execution. We've seen this kind of goals many times. It's going back to where that cross is coming from. The goalkeeper will have a body to reposition to reach it.
That was an opportunity too glorious. Its timing makes it worse.
Adingra would have had sleepless nights thinking of the many things he thought he'd do before the pass came.
Felix Nmecha - the art of single-mindedness.
He got that pass and the only thing he wanted to do was thread it through.
Undavโs finish was absolute justice.
That was a beautiful game.
I noticed the 48 team has made us see lot of upset, because teams know their is best loser to qualify for round of 32. So everyone want to go head to head with the big teams. In all, I have enjoyed the wlWC so far.
We can talk down on football organisers like FIFA, UEFA, etc...but there are few things they've done that are amazing.
For UEFA, the League phase that was introduced has made the games interesting.
For FIFA, this 48-team world cup has been exciting. Especially to the fans, we have more games to watch.
I love the ref cam, especially Bundesliga ref cams, they're so polite haha.
I love the fact that you can contest a corner kick.
(I HATE HYDRATION BREAKS).
What new innovation or introduction to the game do you love?
@aycool_@Hakeem_Onitolo 5-a-side gives you that fitness and technicality to survive the full pitch. With training on positional play u get better playing the full pitch.
And e common with people wey play street 5-a-side come go play big field for the first time, them go jus dey run any how, them no sabi position. U go dey dey left side of midfield dey go pursue ball wey dey right side of midfield. 10mins u go gas out, leg go start to heavy you.
The reason you think 11 v 11 is harder is because the first time dem put you for full field, you were running up and down like a mumu that doesnโt know his position๐๐
You Dey play 2, but you dey striker side OOP. Now you have to sprint back 5-10 times per half.
๐จTHOUGHTS
Una go go play football with cubana chief priest finish, come here and start claiming 5 aside is easier than 11 aside ๐
Play 5 aside against actual players in a 15 by 15 square meter and watch your life flash before your very eyes.
Make I end the debate for una
For example
You fit play 11 vs 11 (make 1 of the other team play low block)
Them no Dey play low block for 5 vs 5
Striker fit see himself for left back ๐๐๐
11-11 expose ur flaws for while l, but with coaching it's easier to adjust. But 5- a-side you are always moving especially with the ball. With 11-11, it's positional play, there are times u can catch ur breath, especially when the ball is not on the side of ur pitch.
5-a-side is clearly more physically demanding.
But 11-a-side shows your football intelligence (or lack of).
That's why some players are king of 5-a-side but get lost in 11-11. They won't even know their position.
Memory Lane....
No cheating, No Googling.
R-L, I can see Shaun Wright-Philips and Malouda.
Guess the name of the player with jersey number 14.
Level: Difficult
Gueye was terrible in the first half, lot of misplaced passes. Mane didn't effect the game. Sarr was below par. Substitutes came late. Still wonder why Ndiaye didn't start the match or atleast the second half.
What I observed from Senegal's angle.
They had a great start, a start that any team would have wished for. The game was balanced in the first half.
Immediately the 2nd half started, the tide swung in France's favour, they kept coming and coming at Senegal, but the coach was not pragmatic enough.
For 20mins in the 2nd half, he could not do anything, I would have expected a change because they were doing nothing.
Idris Gueye is 36 years old and has totally lost the midfield, Pape Gueye was also gone, it was time to bring in fresh players into the midfield.
I have no idea what Pathe Ciss has done to the coach, the guy would have brought control to the already-lost midfield, but he had to concede two goals before bringing him in.
Sarr should not have come out in the 2nd half with the performance in the first 45, but coach is not bold enough. Mane was also off.
Next game, Mbaye or Ndiaye should start, they're more unpredictable, Pathe Ciss should also start. He's just had a great season, he should start.
In your opinion, what do you think happened to Senegal in this game?
