The 2026 Brewers right now in the NLCS are running the highest three true outcome rate (47%) of any LCS since the series began in 1969.
If you think I find this delightfully entertaining, I do.
MLB Twitter spent the entire season talking about the Brewers’ BABIP luck and it was an October power surge that carried them to the World Series. Baseball is a funny little game.
The Philadelphia Flyers have dropped their 9TH GAME IN A ROW (0-6-3) to start the season 😵
And they've scored just 11 goals in those 9 games. It's getting UGLY in Philly 🤐
I get trying to squeeze as much run at short as you possibly can from him (even if it’s a bit sunk cost) but don’t love the idea of being in a state of flux going into the season. Like you don’t really know what you need this winter when you don’t know whether you have a ss.
That shouldn’t be too much of an issue. Pretty sure it’s common for athletes to steadily improve every season as they get closer to their 40s. Especially when they play a physically demanding position.
JT Realmuto told Dave Dombrowski he needs to get better offensively.
JT Realmuto told Dave Dombrowski he feels more mentally drained with all of the added responsibilities. JT feels good physically.
JT could possibly play some first base as well.
When 2 or 4 or 8 teams made the Postseason not only were there fewer games in a single Postseason but a given team was (in theory) making the playoffs far less often. There was incentive for fans to make sacrifices to ensure they could get to games. Not the case anymore.
There’s a really obvious culprit for complacency in the Postseason and it’s oversaturation. There’s an uncomfortable reality that fans don’t want to acknowledge which is that in most markets there’s a limit to the elasticity of demand for Postseason baseball.
“We can’t fill our seats because we’re not winning enough, we can’t fill our seats because we’re winning too much. The start time sucks, the stadium is too far away, sports are too expensive, it’s too hot, it’s too cold, it’s too rainy, it’s too sunny” please shut up
As a Dodger fan sitting on my couch, here’s my perspective about the empty seats
13th postseason in a row
9th LCS appearance in the same time frame
5 WS appearances

Went to Penn State to find out the story behind the empty seats.
Found a fanbase grappling with the new reality of college sports - and the cost of chasing championships.
Thanks to everyone who spoke with me.

I’ve long held the opinion that the FBS was the American sports organization most in need of a large playoff due to the short season and logistical impossibility of having every elite team play in the regular season but this is ridiculous even for me
Sources: The College Football Playoff is nearing a deal to expand to 24 teams, per sources. The new format will start in 2027 and is expected to come together in the near future, pending final approvals.
Breaking: #Eagles QB Jalen Hurts is out for Sunday due to a superficial blood clot.
Full statement from the #Eagles on QB Jalen Hurts:
“On Thursday, October 8th, Jalen visited the training room after practice requesting treatment for his calf. He informed the medical staff he had been cleated during the Rams game on October 4th. This was his first treatment session for the calf injury following the game, after having practiced in full both Wednesday and Thursday. On Friday, Jalen received treatment, practiced in full, and was added to the practice report.
“Out of an abundance of caution, an ultrasound was performed on Saturday following the team’s flight to London and walkthrough. The ultrasound revealed a superficial blood clot. Our medical staff and doctors in London reviewed the results and concluded that activity and mobility were important and that Jalen could safely play. Doctors recommended a follow-up ultrasound within 72 hours of the game and the return flight to Philadelphia.
“Jalen played without limitation in the game Sunday, received treatment on Monday and Tuesday, and practiced in full on Wednesday, as reflected in the practice report. Throughout our time in London and this week, we have remained in communication with the league office regarding the matter.
"On Wednesday night, a follow-up ultrasound revealed movement in the small blood clot. Jalen will be out for Sunday’s game vs. the Panthers as we determine the appropriate course of treatment. His health and safety are our highest priority.”
