@Scholar_Melinda Congrats! Not at a university, but I teach 4th grade in Wichita and do some education consulting work. I'll actually be in Lawrence for work in a few weeks, so recommendations on food, used bookstores, or the best ice cream?
@Scholar_Melinda Great interview! Enjoyed learning about the term humble fire, and liked the more-than-human-relatives idea! Your new paper is on women's role of returning cultural fire to landscapes, right? What led you to become interested in fire and ecology?
Learned so much from the Building Thinking Classrooms workshop with @pgliljedahl! Every math teacher should read the book and implement these practices to transform the way kids think in math! #thinkingclassrooms
@Scholar_Melinda I used to live in DC! Definitely check out Eastern Market, the Einstein statue, and all the Smithsonian museums are great, but especially the Hirshhorn and the African American museum.
@Scholar_Melinda If you're ever in Wichita, you should check out the Keeper of the Plains sculpture by Blackbear Bosin, and the exhibits at the Mid-America All-Indian Museum. Some great exhibits and art there! https://t.co/eF5uJZAvQ8
Awesome session from Tim Bailey with @Gilder_Lehrman about how primary sources are the vehicles to get kids to think about history. Great, high-quality American history resources on the website!
Congratulations to @Todd_Flory of Wheatland Elementary and @KaylorStacia of @ACMS_Jaguars for being named
LaunchLearning fellows by @the_cosmosphere. They will join 10 others in learning new ways to incorporate space science and exploration in their classrooms.
