Meeting with #NikoleHannahJones for an interview this week made me reflect on my June interview with Walter Hussman, the conservative Arkansas media magnate and #UNC megadonor who lobbied against hiring her.
It's worth talking a bit about these two people and interviews.
Here is my full statement about my decision to decline tenure at UNC Chapel Hill and instead accept the inaugural Knight Chair in Race and Reporting at @HowardU.
What a deeply, devastatingly embarrassing moment in the history of @UNC and the @UNC_System. The damage from the ongoing interference and obstruction from the politicians and political appointees charged with being custodians of these institutions will be felt for many years
As unfortunate as this is for @UNC, the Board of Trustees, Walter Hussman and so many others brought this upon themselves. If the conservatives want to dictate where the university will go, it will lose not just @nhannahjones, but so much more talent.

Matthew Miyamoto's ('20) student Comment in @UChiLRev has been cited in a Supreme Court cert. petition in Rranxburgaj v. Pekoske.
His Comment queried whether 8 USC § 1252(g) precludes federal jurisdiction over claims brought by wrongfully removed noncitizens.
Congrats, Matthew!
@lisalibrarian @bordnLawGirl There’s a big difference between closing and requiring all staff to come to work like it’s a regular day. Some people don’t seem to understand this.
