Alexis and Skylar May are no strangers to the risk of injury that comes with playing sports at a high level. Our partnership will give athletes the education on the importance of reporting and the most up to date treatment options!
Feeling incredibly grateful to be awarded one of the @SportsNeuroSoc’s Outstanding Trainee Awards at this year’s symposium. Wouldn’t be able to do it without @ToddCazePhD’s mentorship!
For #pride, let us celebrate and remember Glenn Burke, a Black baseball player who was the first MLB player to come out as gay in the 1980s. Burke passed away from complications related to AIDS in 1995.
🧠New Care Consortium #Concussion Data:
Compared to the no-exercise group, the early exercise group was 92% more probable to experience symptom recovery, 88% more probable to reach clinical recovery, & took a median of 2.4 & 3.2 days less to recover.
The late exercise group relative to the no-exercise group was 57% less probable to reach symptom recovery m, 46% less probable to achieve clinical recovery, & took 5.3 days & 5.7 days more to recover.
Exercise < 2 days post-concussion was associated with more probable and faster symptom and clinical recovery, and lower persisting post-concussion symptom prevalence. When considering our findings and existing literature, qualified clinicians may implement early exercise into their clinical practice to provide therapeutic treatment and improve student-athlete recovery
