A friend of mine earns $1.2M a year as an Anthropic engineer.
I asked him how he mastered prompting. His answer? A video that was never supposed to be public: Anthropic’s core team prompting playbook.
It’s hard to find a better 30-minute guide to getting more out of AI.
I watched it last night. Halfway through, I realized I’d been using Claude the wrong way for two years.

The positive ranking state comes through time.
During the first months, the search engine might not get what you are doing, or they might not see what you are changing.
You should feed them with "historical data," as stated in patents, research papers, and the latest leaks.

Client hired me to audit the SEO audit that their "SEO firm" did for them.
Here's something that the SEO firm missed in their audit:
2 years ago the client migrated to another domain name. The SEO firm set up 301 redirects from the old domain to the new domain. The new domain/site does not use www.
The SEO firm kind of "forgot" to set up the old www subdomain that the old site used. So there are NO redirects from the old domain that used www to the new domain.
To the old site's home page there's 2900+ links that aren't being redirected because of a DNS failure: they didn't set up the www on the old domain.
The old domain still has a @Majestic TF of 16, and current domain has a TF of 10. All because a sloppy SEO firm didn't do the redirects properly.
Pro Tip: You can find this on the @Majestic "pages" report. Download the list of "fresh" and "historic" pages. Then use @screamingfrog to crawl that list of URLs to make sure that they're being redirected. If it's not redirected, then you're missing out on the link value, as it's not being passed.
Cont'd: 20,000 niche site analysis
Do the following and thank me later.
Perform search in google:
site:yourdomain + [one of the below]
1- "Suggested for you"
2- "recent posts"
3- "related posts"
4- "frequently asked questions"
5- "FAQ"
6- "table of contents"
7- "category"
8- "tag"
If any of these searches result in more than 100 pages, do me a favour and remove those widgets/sidebars/sections from your site
Internal linking that is not done in content will generate a huge number of links that look like duplicates in the SERPs for the above search operator.
Whilst it may help users with their journey (UX), i have noticed it harms your SEO.
I am not saying this is the sole problem for your site to tank in organic traffic, but it is a major issue and it is common among thousands of the niche sites I've analysed since Jan 2024.
The 8 anchors above (and their variants) are very common among hundreds of thousands of sites.
The more you differentiate your pages from the mainstream templates/widgets, the safer it is that your site is not affected by any algorithm updates.
This is not an HCU or March Core update only analysis, this applies to all former and future algorithm updates.
Let's look at some examples without mentioning any domain names:
For this site, there are 1,320 pages with "table of contents" in them.
The site above is in the Insurance niche.
If we add "insurance" to the search operator above:
site:domain "table of contents" "insurance"
we get 1,140 pages. I'm not talking about keyword cannibalisation here, I'm talking about duplicate content about "insurance" with a common label (table of contents).
Imagine how confusing this is for Google or other search engines to pick the right page for the search query.
Now, "insurance" is a very generic term, why not narrow it down to "home insurance"?
It gets even worse! 1,230 pages of those appear in SERPs.
Here's something interesting. If I remove "table of contents" from the search query, I still get 1,880 pages.
Turns out there are "categories" where "home insurance" is one of these categories present on all 1,880 pages.
If I remove "category" from the search query, I get 80 pages.
site:domain "home insurance" -"category" -"table of contents".
Do you notice the issue here?
I think, and I'm not sure yet, this is harming your SEO.
I want to work with niche site owners who are willing to test this and remove/deindex those "labels" from their pages.
Hit by Helpful Content Update?: "Google has clearly stated that HCU includes a sitewide signal. That is a big signal to suggest that removing low-value content is probably worth accelerating… but what really counts as low-value content?" 👇 Read this analysis by @Dixon_Jones:

Boots (.com) bidding on their own band name is about as budget wasteful as it gets.
Literally, millions in marketing budget wasted targeting traffic that they would have gained anyway.
This is a huge issue in paid search.
