What makes #Beryl's RI so phenomenal is that this part of the Atlantic usually sees storms fall apart this time of year due to the westerly shear induced by a low-level easterly jet associated with a strengthening subtropical high.

ECMWF weeklies consistently show a well-defined MJO moving into the Atlantic basin during the 2nd-3rd week of June. Anonymous cyclonic flow near the Yucatán could portend TC development, & no surprise, above-normal rainfall over the region, to include FL (wet by June standards!)

@BMcNoldy @MistyKitty3 The temp at noon was 40 under bright sunshine. An absolutely unreal day. Parts of Miami Christmas night into the following morning were below freezing 10-13 hours. In Kendall I registered 26.
