@davidfrum Tell me you are naive without telling me you are naive. The lust for power by Democrats is eclipsed by the blindingly mediocre analysis from those who claim to be honest brokers of the political scene.
Having read this decades ago thinking, remarkable fictional but far fetched account of how corrupted and dysfunctional a capitalist society could become, and now watching the left go after Elon and understanding Rand was sending us a warning.
So, basically, 500 million Europeans expect 300 million Americans to protect them from 120 million Russians who can’t even defeat 40 million Ukrainians while those 500 million Europeans don’t even realize they are being conquered by 2 billion Muslims who claim they are being persecuted by 8 million Israelis. Is that about right?

@WSJ@WSJFreeEx@WSJopinion@MattHennessey This is the simplest example of why you must resist China's economic assault on the rest of the world. You cannot make an accurate statement of fact without China's economic coersion coming into play.
For years, the suggestion that Ilhan Omar had married her brother was treated like some kind of horrifying whacked-out right-wing racist, Islamophobic insanity. This despite repeated journalistic investigations showing evidence this was true along with evidence that Ilhan’s father was a high ranking military aide to the mass murdering Somalian dictator Mohamed Siad Barre.
Why did it matter? Because this was the person lecturing Americans about our own morality at home and abroad while serving as a member of Congress and meeting with foreign leaders.
Omar’s acts of radical self-invention are arguably the most American thing about her. Whats intolerable is that the entire legal, political and journalistic apparatus responsible for investigating such matters in Minnesota seems to have decided to sweep it all under the rug — and then smear and gaslight anyone who suggested the evidence was real. Now here’s the New York Times and the campaign manger for Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey telling you that yes, of course it was all real.
American politics now offers citizens two types of contempt. There is the contempt of those who use state offices and titles and connections to the White House to take billions of dollars from Arab governments and Kremlin “businessmen” to fund their half-assed crypto schemes and real estate deals. We call those people Republicans. And then there is the contempt of those who install foreign scam artists as front men for their sectarian schemes while stealing your tax dollars and telling you not to believe your lying eyes, ie Democrats.
One party is made up of cheap hustlers and pigs, and the other party hates you and laughs at you while doing its best to dismantle the country and hand it over to scam artists and haters from the worst places on earth. But don’t worry: Election Day is almost here!
Folks:
Don't just trust the @nytimes' decade-late attempt to cover the @IlhanMN story.
They have an agenda: tell you as little as necessary, shield as many Obama and Biden folks as possible.
Below, please read the original 25 investigative articles written by Preya Samsundar, Scott Johnson, and myself from 2016-2020.
They provide the answers you need to understand the past 10 years.
I like how it takes 10 years for the feds to leak out that Ilhan married her brother and that Swalwell had sex with a Chinese spy, but about 3 weeks for them to leak out that they were investigating Donald Trump's campaign for Russia "collusion" https://t.co/xLEHpTRKfk
@scottwjohnson@londonoe What is so remarkable is that it takes ten years before the gatekeeping media decides there is a there there. Their starting points for Democrats is always nothing to see here until it becomes so obvious that they feel compelled to report so as not to be deemed incompetent.
It's real. I know business owners there. And this devastating style of governance continues almost unchecked across the country. It's a zombie march without thought or reality testing.
@christopherrufo It seems Seattle and Portland are in a race to the bottom and yet they keep voting for this decline. I keep asking the same question - where have all the sane people gone?
@WSJ Rebuke? Retained enough support to possibly retain his office seems like a win given the approbation he has received from all quarters. The dripping hatred for him by the left and activists who pose as journalists is obvious in this portrayal.
