Absolutely nobody asked for this, but this is a fun little breakdown of what went through my head as I faced Shohei Ohtani in the WBC
My main thought was “If he hits a home run, he’s supposed to. He’s the best… but if you get him out, that’s a fun memory to have forever” 😊
Watch ESPN and other American media outlets call the knockout stage something like…
The Sweet Sixteen, or the Elite Eight, or the Final Four, and then possibly… the National Championship for the final game
Clear your calendar. The world’s biggest stage is set. 🏟️

I think I stumbled upon an MLB owners burner account. I don’t think I’ll ever side with the billionaire owners over the millionaire players. Sorry.
And I also don’t think a salary cap will magically make https://t.co/vAMNTSNYH3 or tickets to games cheaper.
@toddvs35 Im more curious of why you want to raise the price of a consumer product. Wouldnt that make it more expensive for you to attend and stream games?
As a fan/consumer, shouldn't our objective be how to reduce price? Not find ways to side with players or owners who increase price.
@bkrudy What…lol
I’m doing my best to understand your analogy but I’m failing to figure it out
You’re the owner? And you spend $48 on a player, and have $2 left? Why did you pay $48 on that player? Is it because your team sucks and you need to pay overs to get them there?
Here’s the thing about a cap
- LAD offer you $30mil and LAA offer $30mil
- You want to choose LAD for chance to win
- LAA then offer $40mil. LAD firm at $30mil
- LAA sign you
- One player occupies 18% of the cap
Now LAA have less money to sign other “good” players
MLB team owners have formally proposed a salary cap as labor negotiations with the MLBPA intensify. The proposal includes:
• $171.2M salary floor starting in 2027
• $245.3M top-end cap
• Owner-player revenue split

For anyone that comes across this now, I’ve muted the conversation. I don’t mind having conversations/debates, heck, even arguments here.
But I won’t subject myself to insults from anonymous accounts and cowards behind a screen. Act civil. Grow up.
My favourite part about seeing this screenshot when it appears it how it is intentionally misleading and conveniently leaves out the fact that Coates has a knee on the ground, and Walsh is still lowering himself to make a tackle.

Let your eyes tell you what think he makes contact with first.
Mitigating circumstances as he was falling. Looks like shoulder to shoulder. Head to head. Then shoulder makes contact with the head. Is it careless, yes. Is it a sin-bin, yes. Not a send-off
These commentators dead set need to get their eyes checked. Everyone else on the planet could see that the shoulder made first contact. It was direct to the head. It was high force. It had to be a send off.

@Forty20Vision So the difference is, Suaalli made direct shoulder contact to the head. And he lost his feet in the act of making a tackle. Which upgrades it from careless to reckless.
