@francesca_kms Maybe. But despite promises from councils and other ideologists, all the LTNs implemented (over 70% of roads in Hackney) and other measures, motorists are not doing so.
Wishful thinking usually doesn’t yield results, Francesca.
FYI @willnorman A major disbenefit of LTNs is that many people have to live, work, use buses, wheel, cycle or scoot on busier roads taking traffic from LTN streets. @SocEnvJustice
@woodgnomology@BobFromAccounts You have to thank your well off peers for the cost of the legal fees.
Let’s hope the appeal will be successful, so democracy is restored.
@BobFromAccounts Here in Hackney we have too many cars and delivery vans on some of our highly residential roads, only as a result of counterproductive road restrictions like LTNs.
Conveniently , some people who benefit from these measures, like Bob, ignore this fact.
@TransportNeil@SocEnvJustice Sorry for butting in, but I’d say the ‘status quo’ was definitely better than the situation since the wave of LTNs implemented during and after Covid.
Remember, virtually all streets in inner London are residential roads.
Including the ones where LTNs funnel all traffic to.
