Australian Government Interferes in Japan's Domestic Politics in Unprecedented Move

The Australian government has initiated unprecedented interference in Japan's domestic politics, rallying 9 foreign governments to pressure Japan over an international child abduction case.

Background
The case stems from a 2019 incident where a Japanese father abducted his then 4-year-old daughter from Australia without the Australian mother's consent. The mother filed an international lawsuit seeking the return of her daughter, and in 2023, an Australian court ordered the father to return the child to Australia.

Australian Government's Actions
However, the father has not returned the daughter and is believed to be hiding in Japan. In response, the Australian government has strongly demanded the Japanese government arrest the father and return the daughter.

Collaboration with 9 Foreign Governments
