* low 30s @ dawn
* high up
* near a bench seep puddled below a saddle
* too far for most hunters, far enough from hikers
* huge rhodo hell nearby

@roving_brah First is from the top - sunlight pours through the trees. Second you can see the track they use in and out. Third is a leaf nest but the light isnt great; fourth is where they were bedding down deep in the rich soil downhill of the ridge spine. .6ish mi from a hiking trail.

@roving_brah Will dust off my pics - the top of this ridge was covered in bedding sign and full of donut-shaped leaf nests. The tiny pigs I saw were too small to keep up w a wandering herd and piled in one of the nests in the sun. Never seen anything like it.

@roving_brah I've never had to do it but you could absolutely fashion a travois out of poles and haul out. Bet its technically legal in no-wheels wilderness areas.

I use poles for select hikes too - Forney Creek from Road/Nowhere up to Clingmans is a lot easier w poles.

@RolandGunnTN Tate City Rd where it meets Charlie's Creek along the Tallulah River. Coleman River Trail off the same. Buy lands pass or fishing license and walk up Rich Mountains (light bushwhack) access rd, look for Cherokee stuff and the plane crash. Towering bluffs in Swallow Creek WMA.

@RolandGunnTN Def not gothic. Check out Fort Mountain SP, Cohutta -> Jones Settlement via Watson Gap and creekwalk the west fork Jacks where the road ends, Hogpen Gap, Wagon Train Tr north from Brasstown after a big rain; there are better spots but they require nav skills and a bushwhack.
