@dimitripilled But don't you know that art is subjective so nobody can tell what is good or bad or poetry or a book or not? Everything is art bro. My crap in a toilet is art, why? because it probably made you think.
@intentionalisms The people calling shit "the galvanic principle" to keep the etymology in their world-building thorough would be much better off just, like, making video games or doing D&D campaigns with their friends.
@intentionalisms This type of fatuous nonsense is what happens when you are more interested in super logistical worldbuilding for redditors rather than Writing A Good Book.
@A_Frayed_Mind@in2gr8in@Smeggman32 Steelmanning is not a refusal to misrepresent another's beliefs it is very specifically crafting and responding to the most forgiving version of your opponents argument as presented. You should not cover the weaknesses in your opponents argument as they have stated it.
@A_Frayed_Mind@in2gr8in@Smeggman32 The idea that you should steelman someone's beliefs is stupid. You should not argue for your opponent as a result of their own failure as a communicator of their beliefs.
@A_Frayed_Mind@in2gr8in@Smeggman32 Why does anyone HAVE to steelman his beliefs? Also you're changing the course of the argument by insisting that there is no 'odds with reality' I wasn't claiming that I was merely pointing out that this is the original posters argument and you did not understand it.
@A_Frayed_Mind@in2gr8in@Smeggman32 You're arguing complete nonsense. The rationality of his statement under his own praxis doesn't matter if his entire belief system is irrational and at odds with reality, which is what they are arguing.
@RedRagark@JeremiahDJohns The concept of punctuality exists in any society where people want something to be done at a specific time. Not just post-industrial societies. Its not tied to any single burgeoning industry.
