Hi @jonronson, after reading So You've Been Publicly Shamed I built a Public Shaming Simulator as an online story! So anyone can try out what it's like being on the other end of the internet hate machine. It's at https://t.co/3ISw9PMLPT
Have you ever been part of the internet's hate machine? See what it feels like on the other end in my latest project Public Shaming Simulator. Sign up for a free slot at https://t.co/QZ8V9t8m7R #publicshaming#cancelculture#debate
@MattieTK One major flaw is size of venue. I went to Kew Gardens a couple weeks ago and they have a QR code there. It's 300 acres. If somebody had covid 2 miles away on that day, do I isolate for 2 weeks? Not sure what the time overlap required is.
https://t.co/K0tFwV3KaQ - Me and White Supremacy by Layla Saad - the most difficult read, made me appreciate that white supremacy is an appropriate term. Has made me come to terms with the ways I'm thinking and acting (or not acting) that prop up racism
https://t.co/ZcKKAyzFef - Why I'm No Longer Talking to White People About Race by Reni Eddo-Lodge - a well researched and supported look at what how racism manifests in Britain today
Here's 3 books about racism I've read recently. They've each made me think in new ways about what structural racism is, it's not just overt racists, it's all of us and our unchallenged/unconcious bias. It is the responsibility of white people to dismantle it.
@CityPoliceCops@metpoliceuk I don't think this is a useful application of police resources. It seems like an example of doing something to be seen doing it. I can't see who this is benefitting.
@LBC The wheelie is irresponsible and dangerous. But doesn't really matter anyway because the cyclist changes lane to overtake without signalling or waiting for a clear gap. The appropriate thing to do would be stay in lane until it's safe to overtake.
@ian_a_jones I am all for critical thinking, learning to deal with information thrown at you and consider what's true and false is the heart of education. But you can't jam it into a single subject. It's a rubbish course and I was forced to take it 10 years ago. Has provided zero use.
@dog_kick997 @DalJeanis@Telegraph@camillahmturner What's the result they want? Are these people normal everyday people or people in positions of power?
