Love seeing @RickieFowler in form near the top of the leaderboard at @TruistChamp. Something about these Philly courses suits his game… (see 2009 Walker Cup and 2013 US Open, both at Merion)
@eighteenholes18@GOLF_com My only notion is that a player shouldn’t be unduly penalized for hitting an immovable obstruction (flagstick isn’t reasonably movable if you’re not around the green). This is especially true if the player executes an otherwise good shot.
@eighteenholes18@GOLF_com I don’t think Rule 11.2c is the right approach. It’s too ambiguous to estimate where the ball would have stopped on the green had it not hit the flagstick.
@eighteenholes18@GOLF_com And sprinkler heads / covers. It’s dumb that you get free relief if your ball ends up sitting on one, but that if it bounces off of one and ends up OB or in a hazard you have to “play it as it lies”. It’s a man made object “in the way” of the natural course.
@eighteenholes18@GOLF_com The flagstick preventing the ball from traveling the path it would have otherwise naturally taken. In other words, the flagstick (a man made object) caused the ricochet. I would argue this should apply to cart paths and other stakes too.
3 American Servicemembers were Killed and at least 24 Injured last night in a One-Way “Suicide” Drone Attack by Iranian-Backed Forces near the Al-Tanf Military Base in Northern Jordan.
@deanbphillips You have to remove the demand side of the equation. Impose more severe penalties for using undocumented labor. People will be disincentivized to employ them. Take away the source of income, and they won’t risk coming over the border. That’s the only thing that’s worked.
