@TaylorTwellman@stuholden from a U14 girl dad from Houston. League design and travel is hurting soccer. Too many leagues force you to travel more since can’t play the best locally. GA/ECNL etc. Speed, size and strength is over valued and tech/tactical skills under developed
@AlexiLalas 4) guest players allowed to regional and national events erodes the value for committed players.
5) lack of fields. Many clubs struggle to find fields and cost cause clubs to have multiple 3-6 groups practicing on one pitch.
6) travel: beat everyone local before you travel.
@AlexiLalas 2) too many leagues. Talent is spread out.
3) city this size has 4 tier one girl clubs (GA/ECNL). Most are in west and north of the city. This leaves 500,000-800,000 families with 1.25-1.5 hour drive each way. At a younger age, most can’t do it.
Priorities: focus on winning with physical talent and not technical and tactical skills.
Logistics: not enough fields. Limited to space and high costs to rent fields.
Consistent: allow guest players to compete in regional/national finals over fixed roster. Winning>development
How can US soccer improve to be more competitive through the eyes of a u14 soccer girl dad.
- League structure: 1) too many leagues that displace talent and force kids to travel away from good competition 2) require clubs to be large u13-u18 regardless of talent and development.
WOW! A drone show put on by a church in Manvel, Texas depicts our Savior Jesus on the cross.
One of the coolest things I’ve ever seen. Tomorrow, HE IS RISEN.
@RealDanZak Mrs. Rios was my 7th grade English teacher. It was hard and I struggled to make B’s and some A’s. She was fair but pushed me. She was awesome when I look back. In the moment I didn’t appreciate what she did.
@WarMonitor3 They would need a ship to launch from or 18 wheelers near the boarder. It would be similar to Ukraine’s suprise attack on Russia via forward deployed UAS.
@TXMom83306688@Joseph_Duarte Since all UH schools are in the greater metro area, make them feel the same as it pertains to sports and other factors that the main has but satellite locations do not. Mascot & color change for locations doesn’t breed school spirit there; it supplants Cougar sports pride for 0
