@bsprig @Rhapsodyinbrown I can't speak to which party has given larger pay raises, that's not something I've looked at. Biden did give large raises the past two years to cover inflation + some. Problem is, Congress didn't raise NOAA's funding to cover it, so those raises forced fewer hires and other cuts

@srfoskey The airport is right next to downtown and flight paths for takeoff/landing go right over the highrises. Same reason San Diego has no super tall buildings

@amarkowitzWX Money definitely matters. For me it was family and a bunch of friends who mostly stayed in the Pennsylvania area and married soon after college, so if you have a small family with far flung friends, you may wind up with fewer weddings
