FIFA World Rankings
- Italy #12
- Denmark #20
- Nigeria #26
- Poland #35
All of these teams didn’t qualify. There are 48 teams in the World Cup

This is a super interesting idea, and also creates much more room for expansion teams to grow the league further (pro/rel between a first and second division long term?), whilst retaining interesting playoffs that American sports fans are so accustomed to
Switching to five divisions is definitely a route I anticipated the league taking. With 6 teams per division, I believe this is how it would be divided.
Southeast:
- DC United
- Charlotte
- Nashville
- Atlanta
- Orlando
- Miami
Northeast:
- Philadelphia
- NY Red Bull
- New York City
- New England
- Montreal
- Toronto
Midwest:
- Chicago
- Columbus
- Cincinnati
- St. Louis
- Kansas City
- Minnesota
Northwest:
- Vancouver
- Portland
- Seattle
- Real Salt Lake
- Colorado
- San Jose
Southwest
- LA Galaxy
- LAFC
- San Diego
- Austin
- Houston
- Dallas
You're going to have to split one of either the California or Texas teams to another division. I believe the way I listed out makes the most sense logistically.
