@spotrac Poor Thompson, criminally underpaid

[gary @Tomato_guy1717]

@haammode2 @buffsportschat @JeremyWGR @NHLBlackhawks Re-read pal. He was the best 4th defenseman. Meaning he was the number 4 defenseman on Buffalo. No other team in the nhl had a number 4 defenseman as good as byram. Dahlin, samuelsson, power were ahead of him.

[gary @Tomato_guy1717]

@buffsportschat @JeremyWGR @NHLBlackhawks Byram was the best 4th defensemen in the nhl so that argument isn’t very strong. He is also now the Blackhawks best defenseman. The 4th overall pick also isn’t a guarantee.

[gary @Tomato_guy1717]

@TheHockeyNews Not any more

[gary @Tomato_guy1717]

@BMaz1 @Bulldogwgr Since I feel Knies + for Byram would be fair value I’d guess it’s just going to be 1 for 1

[gary @Tomato_guy1717]

@OwenP29 I’d argue Knies + for Byram

[gary @Tomato_guy1717]

@ByMHarrington I mean I value Byram more than Knies. The top 4 would be locked and loaded for years to come, and he is versatile enough to step into Dahlins role incase of injury and have only marginal diminishing returns.

Maybe this is agent speak to drive up AAV on extension

[gary @Tomato_guy1717]

@Bulldogwgr Byram > Knies

[gary @Tomato_guy1717]

@rattmartin @RJNYY0 That would be a terrible trade for Buffalo

[gary @Tomato_guy1717]

@PMiki15 @Flux_cc Yes they’d trade a young, potential top pairing defensemen for a 34 year old aging winger. Brutal take.
