Something interesting that happens once in a great while, happened at the KFT Monday Q this week.

@SargentGolf10 was first alternate Monday so he entered the Q and shot 64. The best score of the day.

However, if someone from the KFT field WD’d before the last shot is hit, then Sargent’s score would be pulled from the Monday Q.
(I’ve told the story before but at the Rocket Mortgage Monday Ben Martin had a tap-in for birdie on the first playoff hole. when his dad messaged me that he had bumped into the field as an alternate, I alerted the rules official and his ball was pulled, opening up another spot in the playoff).

However the KFT Monday finished without anyone from the main field WD’ing, so Sargents score counted and he was in. Because he qualified he is then taken off the alternate list.

It moved Derek Bard up to first alternate. 30 mins later someone WD’d from the field and Bard is now in the field. A potentially HUGE break for Bard.

Sargent told me “if Derek would like know my favorite beer it’s Miller lite”
