@wwfcofficial hi @wwfcofficial that's great, thanks ever so much. The Carousel bus website shows no WW busses on New Years Day, so just thought worth mentioning!
Still struggling to identify these little beasties. Does anyone on the wonderful world of #pollen#palynomorphs#NPPs recognise these from microfossil slides? They look like #testateamoebae but I'm not too sure 🤔🤔🤔
Howdy Twitter #NPP friends! any idea what this little critter is? struggling to key out as an NPP, I thought perhaps a testate amoebae, but ever so transparent. In abundance in a sample of peat immediately overlain by alluvium (pre-flooding signal?)..... Any ideas?!?!!
@Fiafossil Hi Sofie! I don't think so, the surfaces have no obvious sculpturing, & these little things haven't taken up safranin staining like all the pollen grains in the sample. Plus, from a peat deposit, no evidence of other reworked material within the sample! Thanks for the suggestion!
One year to the day since my dad passed away. It’s been a hard year, but we have the fantastic memories. Dropped by to visit where we scattered his ashes this morning. RIP Dad xx

@Amy_Gray_1 @young_isdr @vivjones2@Hannaea_Fossil @DiatomsATTACK ps pretty good indicator of marine conditions, so assume saline influence within fjord

The study resulted from the analysis of offshore cores extracted by Ørsted, for the Hornsea Project 2 windfarm. The paper is a great example of what can be achieved through developer-led funding of research associated with infrastructure projects & the renewable energy transition
