@WayneSBarton I am pretty sure that this picture was taken in Ireland. Duncan would have been around 16 years old at the time. After winning the FA Youth Cup in 1952-53 the Youth team went and played in a tournament in Dublin.
@WayneSBarton@RoyMBE Thanks for kind words Wayne. United's history must be preserved there is nothing better than it coming from fans who were there. Your works are tremendous your books have brought the history to the forefront told by many who created it. Your books a "must" for any Utd fan.
First Anniversary memories of one of the finest human beings that it was ever my good fortune to meet. My great memories of him are not of Harry the footballer, but of Harry the wonderful human being that he was.
@srinivasjrao@UtdBeforFergie Edwards was never ever in with a chance of traveling to Belgrade. Plane was a private charter - the first ever for United. Satinoff represented the United board on that trip - board members stayed behind attending Whittaker's funeral took place during the week of Belgrade game,
@Alan_Tonge Manchester Boys Alan? I think that's Carlo Sartori circled in the middle - is the the lad third from the left in the back row Barry Grayson?
Lovely pictures of Duncan Edwards playing for England Schools in 1952, Programme cover and team sheet (signed) showing what must be one of Duncan's earliest autographs. Alan Morton who joined United as well also in the pic. Owned by a mate in Australia,
@jaffaWorld71@MUFCMemorabilia@mufcinfodotcom@RoyMBE Because at full back United had both Bill Foulkes and Ian Greaves who were vastly more experienced than Peter, and Joe Carolan came in at left back as well. Peter wasn't even first choice for the Reserve team during his time at united.
