“David was greatly distressed, for the people spoke of stoning him. . . . But David strengthened himself in the Lord his God.” 1 Samuel 30:6
He will get you through.
Faith chooses God's pleasure in exile over the throne apart from it.
"Then the king said to Zadok, 'Carry the ark of God back into the city. If I find favor in the eyes of the Lord, He will bring me back and let me see both it and His dwelling place. But if He says, 'I have no pleasure in you.' behold, here I am, let Him do to me what seems good to Him." 2 Samuel 15:25-26
"The steps of a man are established by the Lord, when he delights in His way; though he fall, he shall not be cast headlong, for the Lord upholds his hand."
Ps. 37:23-24
God said "Let there be light... and there was light"
Satan said "You will be like God."
I said "Create a website... and there was a website" (2026)
The serpent is patient. He'll use every tool at his disposal.
Not everyone who builds is building the tower of Babel, but for every builder the temptation is there.
@TomHicks2LCF "You are not only pardoned, but you are a child of God. Go to your Father with joy and thankfulness, and bless him for all his love to you. Wipe those tears away, smooth those wrinkles from your brow: take up the song of joy and gladness." - Spurgeon
Thank you @RebeccMcLaugh and @daneortlund for modeling what good faith public discourse among Christians can look like. A few observations I had:
• Freedom to ask critical questions
• Responses that sought clarity without defensiveness
• Careful consideration before responding
• Charity toward one another even amid disagreement
• An outcome that will genuinely benefit the Church
I appreciate you and your ministry!
Jesus radiates the glory of God, a glory beyond comprehension.
"He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of His nature, and upholds the universe by the word of His power." Hebrews 1:3
When viewed from a distance, a skyscraper may look impressive. Even amazing. But stand at its base and look up, and the body often trembles at its immensity.
Likewise, forgiveness draws us nearer to God, that we might experience the magnitude of His glory more fully.
This man was either insane, possessed, or had unfathomable power.
"For this reason the Father loves me, because I lay down my life that I may take it up again. No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it up again. This charge I have received from my Father." John 10:17-18
We are saddened to inform friends that our dear brother, Voddie Baucham, Jr., has left the land of the dying and entered the land of the living. Earlier today, after suffering an emergency medical incident, he entered into his rest and the immediate presence of the Savior whom he loved, trusted, and served since he was converted as a college student. Please pray for Bridget, their children, and grandchildren.
