@Amazonleo And no accommodations for IoT devices just like Starlink. Viasat still looking like the best option for lowest cost low-power applications sadly.
@davidsenra SpaceX acquired the only company that provided cost-effective satellite connectivity for remote monitoring for the sole purpose of shutting it down. Currently the best low-power solution is NB-NTN, and a LEO constellation like Starlink is the wrong way to go about doing that.
White Butte, the 3,508 ft high point of North Dakota, now has its own weather station. Data can be accessed at the following links:

@NWSBismarck
Mount Sunflower, Kansas recorded a max wind gust of 57 mph and a max 2-minute sustained wind of 41 mph as a result of today's thunderstorms. These are new records for the Highpoint Weather Network. 0.03" of rain fell at the station.
As a result of the cold wave affecting the island of Puerto Rico, yesterday's high of 60.9 °F on Cerro de Punta was the lowest since the station was installed on February 23rd. However, the diurnal range was small, the temperature falling only to 56 °F overnight.
Great news! We have obtained permission to install a station at White Butte, the highest point in the state of North Dakota. The installation date is currently planned for this August. Currently, the highest station in ND is the Bowman Municipal Airport at 2,965 ft.
@JimCantore @TheIrishJeepBum Not seeing that at all. A bit below average for sure, but lowest temps don't even appear to be close to freezing for much of the state. Average winter will see temps much colder than that.
@ChrisWTOL Great, now compare to literally any other type of vegetation. This region experiences high dew points regardless, attributing it to corn is just lazy climatology. At this point, it’s nothing more than a meme if the effect can’t be quantified.
