@TheMiddleborne I do think LOTR is on a level of its own this way, but I think Dune is both quite good and the closest we've seen since in terms of that quality.

@TheMiddleborne I found them pretty similar in quality. Part II had issues, but I struggled with them basically cutting the who-is-the-Atriedes-traitor plotline, which does so much work in showing us Jessica's character and Leto's love for her.

@MartinSkold2 @TheMiddleborne I think they ported too much of Messiah into it (stipulation: I rather like Messiah). I get that Villeneuve is leaning into the "Don't enjoy your messiahs too much" theme, but that requires us to enjoy them a *bit.*
