@SDCCooper I agree that you just have to go with it for Ghibli films in general. Pom Poko is one of the biggest examples of that haha. I enjoy that they always have some messaging in them, delivered in some crazy, wonderful way ๐
@SDCCooper I still watch VFX artists react and stunt people react. Never really watched any of the other stuff they do, but yea not a good look. Guess they are creating content based on trends though ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ
@SDCCooper I've got a lot more time these days for stuff that doesn't take itself too seriously or is just a simple 90-100 minutes of action/basic narrative haha
@SDCCooper That's fair, just wondered if you found it went one way or the other. I've definitely felt differently at times rewatching something that I used to enjoy
@SDCCooper @whatnotben Yea, it's rage quit worthy. Or laughable really. Such a shame, I always thought a live action flashpoint would be the get out of jail card for the DCEU. Could have just stuck to the source and it would be great! Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Thomas Wayne Batman maybe? ๐
@whatnotben There's so much wrong with this scene. Not least of all the colouring is so off, looks like bad cosplay. Doesn't make me want to watch it ๐ sheesh
@SDCCooper It's a shame that most studios seem to ignore standalone films/stories. I get the money aspect, but things like marvel, star wars, DC etc don't have to have post credit scenes a minor references to create well told narratives.
@SDCCooper @whatnotben Would be a nice touch to explain why no one else really shows up to help, except for supes arriving from space and changing everything. I bet this image is as much context as we'll get ๐
@SDCCooper I think some films, or almost entire franchises, tread a very fine line of becoming almost entirely Easter eggs or nostalgia. I love it, but only where it's subtle or has a direct impact on the story. It can be irritating if it's just for the sake of it!
@SDCCooper I always felt like flashpoint was the DCEUs ace in the sleeve, but I'm really not sure about this take on it. Doesn't need double Barry! I really hope they use Keaton for what I hope they do!
