It’s Oct. 2, 1974. You are in Detroit on the mound pitching for Baltimore to Al Kaline who has 399 career home runs. You know it’s his last game. Do you go at him with all you’ve got? Or do you throw middle-middle for him to hit his 400th dinger?

Does anyone remember this?? Early 70’s
I don’t think this was the same as throwing his bat at the pitcher in 1972 ALCS Game 2.
I was at this game and Bert was hanging on the green chainlink fence shaking it like a feral cat!

In Tiger Stadium, the bullpens were each in foul territory. Oakland A’s Bert Campinares was hit by a pitch & stormed the mound to fight. He would not calm down, so Oakland cleared their cage and padlocked Bert inside the bullpen cage for the rest of the game. #raindelayquestions
@citygrrrl This guy presents himself like a real world Travis Bickel. That is some delusional mind putting himself on display right there. Taxi Driver Creepy.
@deescharf@RadioFreeTom It’s actually an adroit observation! Quite a funny comparison without leveling criticism. I can imagine Twitter as one big game show… #Tweetoftheday
