@TheNorthDoc Goater is 2-3 weeks away. Still on managed minutes VFL.
Corr in for Logue. Duursma very lucky PC is out. Will get a couple more.
RHJ offers 0 forward pressure, won’t be in for JK. If comes in is in defence… no thanks.
@kangamerchant Fos in for Curtis
Simpkin goes forward, with Zurhaar.
Also Not against Duursma out and Hardeman in, Daniel goes forward.
Curtis tackles and pressure will be missed, Daniel played the role really well for a couple games earlier this year when up forward.
PC is a huge loss
@kangamerchant And sheezel has to rest forward also! Even if short stints.
We are getting 0 defensively from our half forwards and 0 scoreboard return.
Simpkin 75% and Sheezel 25% down there change everything.
@kangamerchant Surely Simpkin is given the role for 3 weeks if the ban is upheld?
Was literally drafted as a half forward, he has all the skillset to do it and can apply defensive pressure.
Simpkin as a 70% forward with 30% mid time as the 5th mid.
Blaimires, Stephens on wing.
@BenHilly94@page_gma@kangamerchant Unfortunately mate they are all no good. I would rather see him over the other 3 as well, however while we mathematically are alive for finals that won’t be the case.
@BenHilly94@page_gma@kangamerchant Are we really going to do this? He tunnelled him all night and ended up with 4 kicked on him. Did he play him well? Absolutely he did, however he got found out and what he got away with that night he wouldn’t in 2026.
Look at his form against other players at VFL/Afl…. Awful.
@page_gma@kangamerchant Because he cannot defend. At training he is beaten with ease, in the VFL he is beaten with ease and at AFL level he was destroyed by Pat Voss who is a 3rd option at best.
The club knows he is not a key defender hence why trialling him in ruck.
He is not up to it, simple.
@kangamerchant Also can’t see them moving Trembath. Darling is at the twilight end, Larkey is only getting older and there are no key forwards on our list who look like making the step.
If we get Gruz from GWS then maybe? Otherwise I would be keeping Trembath forward.
@kangamerchant We are going into 2027 with 2 of the 3 most likely? At least one.
And I have no confidence in the clubs ability to attract a key defender who’s best 22.
Think the short term best hope is Goater can stay healthy and they accept Whitlock isn’t a forward…Would make a difference.
@kangamerchant Prefer to see this post game as knowing his history something will go wrong 2nd half.
Fingers crossed him and Hardeman can get a clean run at it. Mikunda also building.
Massive concerns down the other end of VFL through… Whitlock, Dovaston look miles off AFL football.
@RalphyHeraldSun And what did a win do ralphy? Put them equal 10th with Richmond and Essendon next 2?
These tweets go both ways, you tried this the week before GC as well, yet tweeted 0 after the win.
Will there be a follow up tweet or just all doom and gloom?
At least keep it consistent.
@StevoMedia Another excuse for your mob Stevo?
Or maybe just are no good? Have won 4-5 games by under a kick, % under 93…. Some close wins have papered over a lot of cracks.
Wildcard at best.
@kangamerchant@thoughtfullwon Larkey has lost the right to play deep, at least in the short term. He should be CHF providing a market target and drawing the best defender up the ground, also thinks it helps our F50 pressure as he does not pressure when hits ground.
We have dynamic forwards, time to show it.
@kangamerchant@thoughtfullwon Larkey up the ground with a small paired off, then zurhaar and a small paired off. Jk and Banch?
Then Trembath and Pc deepest, with sheezel resting deep when not in midfield.
It makes too much sense yet we have not tried it once.
@kangamerchant@thoughtfullwon We will run 3 tall forwards against WC next week, they are under sized and just lost Ginbey.
After that, We need to mix it up, to stop D50 transition and give a different dynamic look.
Play PC deepest with TremBath and Sheezel resting!! He was drafted as a 50 goal fwd..
