Comments below are pretty terrifying. Probably a tell if you feel personally attacked when somebody denounces “hate” and “antisemitism.” Those aren’t controversial statements.
@JennaEllisEsq Get it, you dislike him. Fine. But to amplify lie that the nation’s highest ranking military office has “never been in combat” is disgraceful. Panama, Bosnia, Iraq, 3 tours in Afghanistan. Somalia, Colombia, Haiti. Don’t have to like him, but don’t diminish lifetime of service.
@PMoehringer@patriottakes Exactly. Further, though born reasonably wealthy, as recently as a decade ago MTG was a part-time CrossFit instructor. And while I think she’s a conspiracy theorist and semi-pro troll who genuinely wants worst for most Americans, only respect for that small piece of her resume.
@libsoftiktok Your account exists to belittle, so I suppose it’s meaningless to say: shame on you. This person isn’t a professor, this isn’t a public uni, and we’re not even talking about a class — much less a mandatory one. They do support work for marginalized students. Live and let live.
@Carolyn89380425@benshapiro Agreed. We should work harder to mot give those people badges and guns and power over others. And we should punish them when they violate our trust. This seems non-controversial.
@ndorisiyoni @Javaraz1 @benshapiro I mean, YES. This is the systemic racism we’re discussing. Certainly also preys on poverty, as you rightly note. But why did these out-of-control cops beat a young black man to death? Because they knew they could for all the reasons you mention.
@RussellZiske@SteveOHPAMAIL@laurenboebert A) we’re running at effectively full employment and need labor, especially unskilled B) additional taxpayers benefit our nation C) immigration and upward are the foundational principles of America D) basic human compassion. But none of those will sway you.
@RussellZiske@SteveOHPAMAIL@laurenboebert Think America is amazing. So understand why others desperately want a piece of what we’ve got. We can’t and won’t allow them all in — but should do what we can and with compassion. This seems non-controversial to me and surprised you feel differently.
@RussellZiske@SteveOHPAMAIL@laurenboebert They’re fleeing violence and poverty. Can we agree it’s heartbreaking? In USA they see a safe place to raise family and prospect of opportunity. We won’t/shouldn’t take all, but do you object to doing what we can while feeling compassion for those who not lucky to be born here?
@RussellZiske@SteveOHPAMAIL@laurenboebert Because our economy is stronger, nation safer, opportunities greater, and their future brighter here. Same reasons all our families came. Doesn’t mean we have to let all in, or all at once, or can’t put systems in place. But let’s be compassionate as possible. We have it good.
@SpookieNookie@Huntsman123000@rising_serpent Misinfo? I was trying to add to conversation because people were saying “burnt to ashes” and “looked like white phosphorus” and I thought: “like the other 20K people here, I drove by and looked and that’s not right.” So shared observations. But stay in your bubble. Respectfully.
@sgriffinlaw@LouGazzara@SANDSKI2020@rising_serpent Totally agree. This is a longtime Biden family tradition, so understand why they wanted to continue. But taxpayers provide a funded getaway that’s easier to defend, and President should use it. I felt same when Trump when to Mar-a-Lago for Thanksgiving. Bad decision by both.
