But if a clinician has to learn a new skills, acquire equipment, and figure out how to get paid, it's enough combined difficulty for most to just double down on what they are already doing. I'm thrilled I've added CI and APD to my practice but it wasn't easy.

Another idea: Stop trying to teach every patient how to read the audiogram. Audiologists should spend more time listening to their patients and finding out what motivated them to come to see us and less time teaching them something that isn't necessary to solve their problems.
