@dazi180turtle You wanna check out various ‘luck’ stats in NFL or college football/basketball. One would have the hypothesis a player’s timing, over a large sample, would be zero. Maybe not in darts…
Despise even giving this an interaction but what a ridiculous and hypocritical take. Should Littler, Bunting etc send tweets out telling the fans to whistle anyone they’re playing then? After all, it’s for a million pounds and would certainly be an advantage…
Why would you not try to rattle your opponent in a tournament where the winner gets £1 million?
Proper game-management from Mensur Suljovic. A lot of players should take notes.
Say Hello to the 2026 Oaks winner… Abashiri
Abashiri made an impressive debut yesterday at Kempton and the data confirms what the eyes saw. Before delving into the data, just as a physical she looked so impressive. A lengthy filly with plenty of scope and quality. Her pedigree is superb, by Frankel out of Godolphin’s own group 1 winner Sobetsu. Sobetsu has already produced a group 2 winner and group 1 placed filly in English Rose.
If you were impressed with Talk Of New York a few weeks a go (as I was) Abashiri has ran a slightly quicker overall time with a quicker final 2f. Both horses were impressive and didn’t come off the bridle so no doubt could have gone even quicker. Where I think Abashiri is even more impressive is that I have Talk Of New York down as a 8-10f horse whereas I think Abashiri will stay further and she looks like she’s just getting going in that final furlong which was clocked at 11.12 after firing in a 11.02 in the penultimate furlong. Normally those types of sectionals come off very slow early paces with poor overall times. However, this was a good overall time and highlights this is a serious filly.
Digging into the stride data we see she averaged 2.13 strides per second with a minimum of 2.07 and a high of 2.28. So she has a low turnover without a high frequency when quickening but still manages to create plenty of speed. She also has a big stride with a max of 8.09m. Based on this data she should stay 12f no problem and her pedigree also suggests this (Frankel progeny have won 3 of the last 7 Oaks)
Everything is there on paper and this could be a very good filly in the making. She might go for a 1000 Guineas first but the Oaks could be ideal. I’ve taken the 33/1 for the Oaks
