๐ CUP BY NUMBERS: Brothers in Arms ๐ฎ๐ช๐ซ๐ท
For the first time in 14 years, two sets of siblings will contest the Melbourne Cup.
๐ฌ Buckaroo & Middle Earth โ out of Roheryn
๐ฌ Arapaho & Athabascan โ out of Alzubra
๐งฌ Only the 3rd time since the 1800s that brothers will line up together in the great race.
๐ The last pair? Saptapadi & Modun (2011)
๐ The only siblings to quinella the Cup? Gaulus & The Grafter (1897-98)
Bloodlines run deep - but this year, itโs truly a family affair at Flemington.

A brief update on my change in circumstance: While I am disappointed to leave the MRC, I can say that during my time as CEO I always sought to act in the best interests of the club.
Such sad news but what beautiful words. I was fortunate to work for Christophe for the summer back in 2001. He was incredibly generous with his time and knowledge- always happy to answer my many, many questions.
We are thrilled to announce our 2025 Fast Track cohort!
This year is our largest yet, with 25 students from six states gathering for their first learning block in Scone, NSW.
This is a fantastic reminder of how far the program has come, and we look forward to following this class's journey over the coming year.

Special to celebrate & remember Margaret's contribution to racing, particularly Caulfield. I learnt so much from Margaret. Huge admiration for her quest to make sure strappers were catered for on a Raceday. The reason they now are at so many tracks. Always missed, never forgotten
An amazing day with more than 12,000 on course for a fantastic Sportsbet Mornington Cup ๐
Easterland, chocolate and free rides kept the kids happy with great, competitive racing on track โ a wonderful day on the Peninsula.
We know there were some challenges with traffic congestion, so we'll be offering all Members who attended a free drink next time theyโre at the MRC.
A happy Easter to all โ get home safe! ๐ค
"That offering is amazing value."
@MelbRacingClub CEO Tom Reilly is keen to see you at the SENTrack Deck this Saturday at Caulfield!
We've even kept the price at just $40!

๐WFA Performance Ratings โฑ๏ธโ๏ธ๐ - Five highest-rated winners from 15/3:
*โฃ A stunning return by Pride Of Jenni! A 104 rating is her 4th best career performance and by far her best first-up effort. It's some training performance by Team Maher to get her to produce that first-up at 1800m.
*โฃ Lady Shenandoah ๐103.2 improved on her previous best of 101.7 in the G1 Surround Stakes. Some downplayed the win because of the narrow margin, but the race was outstanding on the clock ๐ฅโฑ๏ธ, and she gave the 2nd horse 5.5kg relative to WFA.
*โฃ Vauban 102 had more merit with the race shape against him. The sectional speed he showed is a very promising sign for his future here in Australia.
*โฃ Eagle Nest was backed like she was ready to run a big new peak fresh off a break ($11 into $6.5), and she did that. Her 99 rating is up on her previous best of 96.5.
*โฃ Steady Ready 97.7 stood out at Eagle Farm, improving his past peak of 96.5.
โก๏ธ2YOs - Skyhook 96.7 - Memo 92.5 - Mcgaw 90.5
To everyone @MelbRacingClub who endured my Shout the Bar effortsโฆ Iโm sorry. Turns out, pouring a beer is an art, one I have zero talent for. If froth was currency, Iโd be a millionaire. Pride of Jenni was the real star. Iโll stick to admin & leave bartending to the pros.๐บ
Great to see all the riders and their ponies practicing ahead of next weekendโs @TBredCareers race at Caulfield. Such dedication! Well done to Lindy and her team, plus all parents and - most importantly- the young stars of the saddle.
Happy International Womenโs Day, lets celebrate the incredible women who make a difference in racing & beyond. Their passion, dedication, & leadership continue to inspire & drive the industry forward. ๐ #InternationalWomensDay#HorseRacing
