Maybe obvious thought but last night I realized:

The internet was just a way to move all human knowledge into a structured format easily accessible by computers so that AI could then arise and train on all of that

Before the internet that knowledge was too dispersed, in books, television, people's stories etc.

Internet was just a bootloader for AGI
