I 100% support this relaunch! The configuration of the show as we’ve known it was a result of sponsorship with GE. Prior to GE’s involvement, it was planned as a nostalgic show for a planned neighborhood of Main Street USA. It now sits in Tomorrowland and context matters. It’s long overdue for a show that doesn’t focus on one century--and household appliances--but BETTER LIVING. I’ve long suggested expanding the show's timeline, and fast forwarding to the future; just keep the song--that’s where the heart and soul is— and don’t be beholden to the rotating side scene format in all of the acts. Also, reincarnate the Kaleidophonic Organ in the 1960/70s!
Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress is headed towards a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow ✨ You'll get to see John, Sarah and the whole family experience new decades, when the attraction is updated at Disney World in 2027 🗓️https://t.co/pRz5KCMqy8
In honor of NBC’s 100th anniversary, I cleaned-up and color-corrected a lo-res version of the original animated Peacock that I found on the Internet sometime ago. Chat GPT held my hand in this, my inaugural foray into the world of Topaz.
@CraigMahoney Thanks for that. I knew about the “Von Drake” version(s) but was somehow under the impression that Disney also did the one posted, and that it intro’d Disney’s first episode on NBC. Do Electra produced that 4 years before NBC went to color?
@WDFMuseum He’s painting clouds over the giant aerial photograph of Southern California, which originally hung in the office of Buzz Price & C.V. Wood. Why? For the lift-off & reentry sequences in Rocket to the Moon attraction. “Use everything!”
