@simon_carne@redhistorian If he had lost last week’s vote, he would have only stayed PM until Con’s chose a new leader. If he called a vote on his gov he would probably win because even Con MPs who want him gone really don’t want a general election.
@redhistorian@simon_carne The Con’s process exists in gov or oppo. They voted on PM’s role as party leader, even if he lost he would likely remain PM until a leadership election. A HoC confidence motion or vote would be in the entire government, the likely result of one shows MPs see a difference
