@jt_stamford Not weird at all. A last minute winner to go 2-1 up. The celebrations were so mad because it won the game. They still had 20 mins to go of the final when they equalised and the score was 1-1. They are hardly gonna go mental when the game is still in the balance with so long left.
@Cesca_LB It makes no sense at all. Of course we all want to win and hope we get over the line. But myself and everyone I know spends the entire build up to any tournament game (and most of the game itself) panicking at the very real prospect of losing.
@Brucker_Ali@Chelsearory It’s about Ronaldo’s ban. And the concept / purpose of these bans is about the wider integrity of the sport. Not just how the ban might impact one team or individual.
@Brucker_Ali@Chelsearory Again that doesn’t matter. There are loads of things at play beyond just Portugal with decisions like this. The precedent it sets for other teams and the issue of sporting integrity. It’s why the Balogun decision is so controversial now and that has nothing to do with Ronaldo.
@Brucker_Ali@Chelsearory I don’t really understand what the bending of the rules has to do with the media or Messi fans if I’m being honest. How well or badly Portugal play with or without Ronaldo doesn’t really matter here.
@newpopulistsusa@cenkuygur Why not just accept the ban and take on Belgium without Balogun then. Doesn’t seem like an elite mindset if you can’t accept the cards you’re dealt and use the rest of the squad to get the job done.
@youdontgetit07@Chruffman@heykayadams International football fans honestly couldn’t care less about ‘fanbases’ from outside their own country. It will make absolutely no difference to the success / failure / future of the side or impact on Portuguese people’s enjoyment of their team in any way.
@spencermorgan93 Correct me if I’m wrong but wasn’t the Ronaldo criticism a cumulative effect of the last 10 World Cup games and the fact that he hadn’t scored, alongside the fact that he never scored in the knockouts. Not just the one Congo game in isolation.
@luke_1871 You clearly don’t understand football. Not sure if you’ve heard but if you don’t win the tournament then all games are meaningless and therefore should not be enjoyed.
@jeffafc Don’t disagree with you but let’s not act like you and plenty of other Arsenal fans don’t do the same about Harry Kane because he used to play for Tottenham.
@SketchyM700@GroggyGunner@4Pramod Won them quite a few games. Got them deep into tournaments for the first time in a long time. Gave fans some great memories / experiences / summers. Not everyone can be the winner but if you’re an actual fan then enjoying the ride is a huge part of it all.
@Saka_is_GOAT Not so sure about this. I’ve seen countless posts even now slagging off Kane. Saying he ‘goes missing’, ‘doesn’t score against big teams’, ‘is a bottler’, ‘has let England down in tournaments’ many mentioning the France miss. It’s not hard to find them. You’re doing it right now.
@d_onlydipps What you don't understand is that every game Kane has scored in was against easy opposition. Also penalties, rebounds, and anything from within the 6 yard box doesn't count. Goals for Spurs and Bayern also don't count because 1) They never won anything and 2) Farmer's League.
@MichaelAvinou@The_Forty_Four No but I was there that day and it was great. If you can only enjoy football after your chosen team has won a competition then it says a lot about you.
