The deciding factor here will be whether the ruling clique really want/feel they need to clean house. Haven't seen what the Times, Sun and Mail are actually saying on the matter but reckon that'll give you a better sense of whether it'll stick or not.

@gem_ste @fromarsetoelbow Goes beyond manufacturing consent even. The thing doing real psychic damage to me is the way they talk about the economics like this isn't what they were full-throatedly in favour of all of 5 seconds ago. It's not manufacturing consent so much as just assuming it!

@n4ssie My wife had to sit two separate English exams (well, she didn't bother with the second one) where they tested her for basic conversational English despite the fact she holds the highest level English language qualification and been working in the UK *as a teacher* for 7 years
