having compute is one problem.

knowing where to send the problem is another.

a workload doesn't necessarily want the same hardware every time.

some problems may benefit from quantum processors.

others may be better suited for GPUs, CPUs, or specialized hardware.

so the interesting challenge isn't simply collecting more machines.

it's figuring out how to match the right problem with the right machine.

that's one part of @quipnetwork I find particularly interesting.

the network is designed around a marketplace where users submit workloads, while different compute providers can contribute their available resources. Jobs can then be routed toward hardware suited to the task.

think of it less like buying a specific computer...

and more like asking:

“what is the best machine available for this problem?”

that abstraction could become increasingly important as computing becomes more heterogeneous.

CPU.
GPU.
ASIC.
QPU.
different architectures.
different strengths.
different economics.
the user shouldn't necessarily need to understand all of that.
they should be able to describe the problem and let the network handle the complexity underneath.

Quip is still early, and the difficult part is making that routing reliable, efficient, and economically sustainable.
but I like the direction.
because the future of compute may not be about finding one machine that can do everything.

it could be about building a network that knows which machine should do what.

and if that works...

the hardware becomes the supply.

the workloads become the demand.

and the network becomes the coordination layer connecting them.
