I’ve been thinking about this alot lately. After over a century of cinematic narrative storytelling there is a possibility of a transformation in the form from new technology. I liked the descriptive of cinema, I think from Scorcese (could be wrong) that it is like experiencing a ‘waking dream’. I do believe the best films created by capable Directors are like this. Maybe genAI filmmaking will push this phenomenon of storytelling or narrative experience further. A new form would be exciting if it is universally compelling.
@mreflow He was a wise man & your right the internet was also kind of a seed to an even more profound change with AI. He was intuitive enough to see ahead & understand the dichotomy of such a great change too, “exhilarating & terrifying”.
Yeah it’s a bit of a no brainer. I pay $199 and wait months, possibly watch other way more expensive offerings come out, but I didn’t over invest and I get to play with a new paradigm. The rubber won’t hit the road on AI hardware until next year most likely anyway and by that time Rabbit will be able to iterate with a customer base that are already using their product. They may not be the biggest player, but who knows how they may evolve as a company. You’ve got to tip your hat to those who jump in with a thoughtful and accelerated approach. This will be the key to doing well in an AI economy. Figure (robotics) are another company to look at 👀.
Yeah I was thinking the same. I think the car industry is unconsciously yearning for change. I like your ‘low poly’ descriptive. The Cyber truck offers a refresher the car industry needs desperately. I think it just takes the cars being on the streets to evoke the influence. Images and prototypes are not enough.

Apple
Like the witch in Snow White they really work hard so that you will take a bite🍎

The reference to the witch and the apple in Snow White does not hold any relevance to the Vision Pro containing a poison that will put you into a coma & then need to be awoken by the kiss of a handsome Prince.

I have to confess I’m hooked on this show 🤓🐵🤖
Did you know in 1987 you could have a detachable keyboard, mouse and a phone handset in your laptop? Only weighed 19pounds, 1hr batt, 20mb of memory and cost $7990.
Oh okay now I get e/acc 🙄

I think your comparison is a good one based on recent demos. The domestic robot solves a massive problem for our current age. No one has the time to run the home anymore. We are all working. I have a family with two young kids and the house is a chaos machine with both parents working. Solve that problem and the growth potential is huge! 🤓🐵🤖
This demo of Figure-01 represents what looks like a great bump up in Robotics capabilities.
Literally being able to watch a person do something and then repeat the action is pretty impressive.
Multimodal AI integration is proving its worth in the robotics field atm.
We saw last week the team at Stanford demo their Mobile Aloha project doing something similar.
Exciting times for robotics 🤓🐵🤖

That’s a great question. I recently listened to @beffjezos on @lexfridman and I think I agree with him in that AI’s and eventually any potential ASI will reflect humans and align as they evolve with us bit by bit. So I think they will be amplified by both wisdom and a kind heart.
Leve[rage] Lever[age] LEVERAGE
I have pondered this word Leverage a lot lately and it seems to capture something about where we are at, how it relates to the coming age and how it relates to AI.
I’ve broken up the word as often I do when I see a multitude of different angles in one. Correlations, connections, you know, kind of manic stuff.
Let’s start with Leve[Rage] or of course Leave Rage…
What does this evoke for you? For me I think of social media and the siloing of ideology. The challenges the world inevitably presents you when it doesn’t fit your fixed ideas of what is ‘right’ and ‘wrong’. It’s enraging cos it’s out of your control. Those who are opposed to you may motivate you to want to seize some control over them, their thoughts and behaviours. We have all felt this way, it’s natural.
I’m also reminded of my parenting. The first years of your child’s life spent thinking about, trying to guide and help them through their emotions, regulating them. It’s not easy as an X gen when you’ve had no exposure to the concept when you were younger. I still remember affirmations like ‘boys don’t cry’, ‘you’ll be alright’ and sometimes even being yelled at for displaying too extreme emotions, joy or anger or anything! Leave Rage for me is coming to terms with my own history of not having emotional regulation. Most of the time you just find yourself angry a lot.
Then there’s Lever[Age] or Leaver Age…
We are all leaving our old working lives behind it would seem nowadays. Even if you haven’t left your job, you spend half of your time or at least a third of it doing your job from home. We have all but left the 9-5 in the office. I believe this trend is only going to continue, but maybe not exactly from a purely remote point of view. Just satellite work, periods of deep work, small enterprise, side hustles and periods of collaboration where you get together. Who knows!
Now to Leverage…
It’s beautiful, because it offers a promise of abundance. Leverage your value, leverage your time, leverage your skills, leverage your personal insight, leverage technology and of course leverage AI and the rewards will grow exponentially.
