Every time I dig deeper into Mastodon and how it works technically & socially, it becomes clearer that it's not suitable as a Twitter replacement. It's an interesting idea and there are some use cases, but not as a public, global social media network.

@alshalloway I've read (at least some of) those. I have mixed feelings. There are times that I find the immutability of Scrum very helpful. But it also puts roadblocks for teams and orgs that misunderstand what it means. And then there are people who weaponize immutability.

@alshalloway Maybe we don't agree on responsibility and accountability. Perhaps you don't agree with the Albert Bandura quote, but I've found it to be true more often than not. A good heuristics is to have a single responsible/accountable person because it'll be right more often than wrong.

If you don't have a single person responsible to make sure that all of the work is happening, no one will be responsible for it. Doing the work is different than responsibility or accountability.

@alshalloway You said that sharing the work of the Product Owner creates great collaboration. I agree. But then you said that Scrum prohibits it. Scrum does not prohibit it. As long as there is a single accountable person, the whole team can share in the work associated with a Product Owner.

@alshalloway There's advantages to a single accountable individual. Nothing prohibits the team from sharing in all of the work.

The PO/SM being the same person is a different problem. There are good reasons to separate them to maximize the chances of self-organization.
