AI agents will not kill 80% of SaaS.
They will kill all the SaaS that didn't deserve to exist in the first place.
But the idea that SaaS will be replaced by agents has several flaws:
- The moment an agent does something useful and repeatable, it gets turned into a deterministic system. Once you figure out a workflow, you don't want probabilistic answers.
- No one is going to wait for an agent to generate a custom app every time they need to do a task. If they do, thinking they'll use it again, congrats they now have custom software they have to maintain.
- The reason most people don't build software isn't just because they can't code, it's because they don't know what they actually want. Great products exist because someone put a lot of thought and iteration over an extended period of time.
AI is gonna enable 100x the amount of SaaS that we have today.
If you use FluxUI, I've just published a SKILL to help you feed the docs to your favourite coding agent.

I context engineered my new doctor.
Before the visit, I used ChatGPT to compress my hospital reports into a 1-page context doc.
Handed it over.
He skipped the usual questions and went straight to next steps.
Better context = better inference.
The Google lawsuit against SerpApi is the definition of hypocrisy.
Their announcement claims it's about stopping SerpApi from reselling "copyrighted content".
But the actual lawsuit is built entirely on the DMCA, suing them for circumventing their anti-bot measure "SearchGuard".
They can't sue for scraping (it's legal).
They can't block them (proxies win).
So they are trying to legally lock down the very same data they scraped.
EU makes more from fines on US tech, than tax from ALL of public European tech
in 2024 EU fined US tech companies โฌ3.8B meanwhile public internet tech companies paid only โฌ3.2B in income tax
One day we'll look back at AI as something we needed to "talk to". Just like how we used to start our routers back in the day. In the future it will be always on, just like the internet.
Today I learned why Spain seems to eat so late.
It was on the same time as the UK until 1940.
Then they moved their clocks 1 hour forward during WW2 to sync with Nazi Germany and never changed back.
So Spain now lives about an hour ahead of its natural solar time.
