The FP-9 ballistic missile—with a range of up to 850 km, capable of reaching Moscow—will be ready this autumn, Zelensky said.

He has also been complaining a lot about the lack of funding. The billions of euros a month Ukraine has been receiving are clearly no longer enough for the combined burden of its military costs and repairs to infrastructure Russia is hitting day and night, with no sign those attacks will ease soon.

Whoever decided to escalate this by targeting civilian warehouses in Russia and ships in Russia’s Black Sea ports made a very dumb move. Europe simply can no longer afford to cover the costs of this proxy war and Ukraine’s enormous financial needs.

韓国ドラマをよく見る人なら、このニュースの凄さ、たぶんすぐ分かる。

韓国で10月2日、78年間続いた検察庁が廃止され、刑事司法制度が大きく変わりました。

韓国ドラマでよく出てきますよね。

警察が事件を追っていると検察が出てくる。
検事が自ら捜査を動かす。
政治家や財閥が絡むと上から圧力がかかる。
そして「この事件から手を引け」。

なぜ韓国ドラマの検事は、あんなに強いのか。

韓国では長い間、検察が捜査と起訴の両方に強い権限を持っていたからです。
その巨大な権力が政治的に利用されてきたのではないか、という批判も続いてきました。

今回、その仕組みそのものに手を入れた。

検察の捜査権をなくし、捜査を担当していた42部署を廃止。
起訴・公判を担う組織と、重大犯罪を捜査する新組織に機能を分離しました。

つまり、
「捜査する側」と「起訴する側」を分ける。

韓国ドラマで何度も描かれてきた「あの強すぎる検察」の問題に、現実の韓国が制度そのものを変えるところまで踏み込んだわけです。

もちろん、今度は警察に権限が集中しすぎないのか、捜査をチェックする機能が弱くならないのか、という懸念も出ています。

それにしても、78年続いた制度をここまで変えるとは。
