@JoeBenigno_real I’m your age and a die hard Mets fan like you. I also hate Stearns and said it before this year started with his moves based on “culture and run prevention”. That said, what do you think of trading Soto, if possible, a great hitter but he seems to be a me player?

@Riley_Gaines_ US people Rooting against US tonight and men playing women’s sports are ridiculous. However, all sports are replete with bad calls that, whether we liked them or not, stand. Trump and team should’ve kept out of it and let red card stand. Maybe we would’ve played better.

@BrandonTierney Ridiculous to say the roster is an abomination. They have an excellent starting pitching staff and are the best team in the AL. Yes they’re in a slump now but the Rays were 2 weeks ago. They’ve had a few injuries but they will rebound once healthy.

@JonHeyman I would trade Soto, if possible for another team to take the contract and trade a decent prospect. Soto is a great hitter but not the type of player to root for or lead. He’s all about himself

@EvanandTikiWFAN I’m a huge Mets and Giants fan. Brunson is undoubtedly #1 with the championship and solid numbers. DeGrom is #2 despite no championship and leaving NY as he is a HOFer. Eli even with 2 championships is #3 as his numbers don’t match up and defense was huge part of winning.

@NYDailyNews Stearns ripped the heart out of the team not bringing back Nimmo, Alonso, Diaz and McNeil. The Mets lost last year due to bad pitching, not “culture”. Stearns wanted credit for building his own team. So they overpay for Bichette and have no 1B. His ego and smugness MUST go!!

@AlbaneseLaura Cohen hopefully fires Stearns this year. Stearns ripped the heart of the Mets losing Alonso, Diaz and trading Nimmo. I think he did that for his ego to build his own team. And shame on media for buying into Mets needing culture change. They needed starting pitching and still do

@StevenACohen2 Steve, you overpaid for Soto and you have a big contract with Lindor so we know payroll will be high. But right now, we have a team that had weaknesses add 3 more losing Nimmo, Alonso and Diaz. We’ll see what acquisitions are made but Stearns and his analytics don’t inspire faith

@AnthonyDiComo Without the 3 players the Mets lost, they would’ve won 70-75 games last year. They got lucky in ‘24 with some career years. Stearns gambled on the bargain bin for starters in’25 and lost and he had no CFer. The Mets are worse off losing Nimmo, Alonso and Diaz.

@tommylugauer What player ever says it’s about $? They point to something else but it is ALWAYS about $. I think the Yanks played the Mets knowing Cohen wasn’t going to lose and just pushed him as high as possible. If the Yanks really wanted him, they would’ve matched for the extra $5M.

@vasdrimalitis I’m a Mets fan and I’ll say the Mets didn’t sign Soto to a big contract, they signed him to an outrageously ridiculous contract. Cohen did that with Scherzer, Verlander and almost with Correa. That’s why they get clowned.

@The7Line Bad take guys. Are the Yankees what you worry about?? As a Mets fan, I would’ve preferred the Yankees get saddled with this albatross of a contract. I hope he opts out after year 5. Very good but one dimensional player.
