@FelixSchlang I'd love to know how they control the surface finish for the interior passageways. And how the measure/inspect the narrow passageways for roughness. Electro-chemical etching? Combined with staggered layers and varied later cross-sections?
@obelisktoucher1@FelixSchlang I was under the impression the ship will have too much pressure during reentry as the heat shield side of the ship is roasted by plasma, and will be venting the tanks to maintain safe pressure levels. I don't see the need for a separate"heat exchanger"
@CSI_Starbase@RyanHansenSpace surface in addition to the deluge water running across the surface.
As always thank you for the deep dive investigations.

@CSI_Starbase@RyanHansenSpace plan to drill thousands of small holes on round pipes after installation. I am also not certain that thousands of small holes would improve the flame-buckets performance vs a spout type system where the continuous flow of water through the pipe would cool the pipe 4/*
@CSI_Starbase@r3a9an_k_ If you search plug welds you'll see that for thinner plate the plug welds may end up flush with the top surface, but for a thicker cross-section it would be time consuming to fill the entire hole with weld. A cap may have been used to speed up the process. 4/4.
@CSI_Starbase@r3a9an_k_ ... welded to the upper edge of the plate. (I assume these plates are 2-3" thick. The cone end would sit in the hole giving clearance around the edge for the plug weld, the small chamfer on the top surface would be weld prep for the cap to be welded to the top plate surface. 3/*
@MarcSkulnick @NrinderWard3 According to a story published in the Spec Nov. 15th - The demolition should start before the end of the year.
