I haven’t required a fiction book this holiday. I’m literally reading the Jason Arday stuff instead. It gets more bonkers by the day🤯

The updates re ‘locked in syndrome’ etc genuinely made me laugh out loud.

If this Jason fella was a white working-class geeza down the pub, his mates would have named him ‘Jackanory’. Each time he returned from the bar; “Jack is back” would have echoed. People would have laughed at his tales & nobody would have taken him seriously. They would have applied a bucket of salt to anything he said.

HOWEVER- Because Jason has black skin, he was instead put on a pedestal & worshipped. Promoted beyond his means by people & organisations who should have known better, but who couldn’t help but salivate at the opportunity to tick boxes and seem virtuous. Non would likely have questioned anything he said - They would have been busy congratulating themselves, thinking *they* were the superior ones. Looking down on anyone who dared raise questions…

Critics & those questioning were smeared, ridiculed and even risked police prosecution. The word “Racist” was obviously thrown around like confetti.

DEI is an utter disaster. This farce is a perfect example of why it is time for it to go in the bin. It should indeed be a turning point.

Jason and his champions look very, very silly indeed. They should all be embarrassed and should learn from this…tho I suspect they won’t.

… I await the next chapter in the tale eagerly, with a cocktail in hand.. 🍹
