Statement from TownSquare Labs:

TownSquare Labs has always been dedicated to fostering the growth and prosperity of the TON ecosystem in the Asia-Pacific region. Our primary focus lies in building the developer community, developing infrastructure and public goods for the TON ecosystem. We are grateful for the support of key contributors from TON ecosystem, including TON Foundation, TON Studio, and TON Society, who recognize the value of true long-term builders.

In October 2023, we registered the Twitter handle @ton_square and have since used “TownSquare” as our official name, inspired by a playful wordplay.

As the TON ecosystem experienced exponential growth after 2024, with numerous new projects emerging, we noticed an increase in projects with names closely resembling “ton square.” Some of these projects have even marketed tokens to the community. We have been repeatedly asked about our association with such projects, which has caused unnecessary confusion.

To mitigate any potential misunderstanding for the TownSquare community, we have decided to change our handle from @ton_square to @TownSquareLabs. The @ton_square account will now be retained purely as a proxy and placeholder.

We sincerely thank our friends in the TON community for their valuable reminders and suggestions.
