2 yrs ago, I started my HVAC biz with zero experience—didn’t even know how to open a furnace.
Now, we’re on track for $12M in revenue this year, and employ 50+ amazing people.
Being a refugee here it’s hard for me to take people seriously when they complain about this great nation.
Not sure I agree with this strategy at your size. Anything under 5 mil in revenue you should think about growth in dollars. So adding 2 mil in revenue on a 2 mil business is 100% growth - but it’s only 2 mil in revenue. Growing a 30 mil busness 100% YOY is adding 30 mil - completely different challenge that should be approached different. It should be a cake walk add 2 mil revenue in 1 year, it actually gets easier once you get to 5 mil and can afford certain front line managers that you can’t afford at 2 mil. Not trying to sound negative but want to make sure this info is out there for people starting out.
@STLChrisH Do you have different sales reps run tech leads and different reps run media leads? This seems skewed to look better when running more tech leads.
@irentdumpsters How do I effectively do this? Sounds like a huge undertaking for an operator who doesn’t specialize in SEO. Do you have anything for this?

Here’s a video of someone breaking in and robbing one of our install vans. We’ve already filed a police report. Is there anything else we can do in this situation?
I’m sorry to say but this is terrible advice and how companies that aren’t run properly lower their profitability during the summer. If you’re getting 200 demand calls a day and you can only run 50 you should definitely keep a thumb on your marketing spend. We just slashed our PPC 75% and we’re still 200% capacity on leads. I don’t mean to come at you wrong but theirs going to be people who see this and think this is what they should be doing. Aggressive marketing spend is for slow seasons and hyper growth. Summer time you can just coast because the leads will be there. As long as you’re adding a few new channels in the off season you should be getting more than enough leads in the summer to grow steadily without losing your ass on marketing spend.
Private equity sometimes kills my vibe. I see hardworking tradespeople being replaced by used car salesmen and MBA bros. Nothing against them, but some tradespeople worked their entire lives to become service or sales managers, only to be replaced by a 28-year-old who can "drive revenue."
