Tonbridge Welcomes Refugees is part of the Citizens UK national campaign to resettle refugees across the UK

We add our voice to those expressing grave concerns about the conduct of the home secretary. The situation at Manston and the dehumanising and inflammatory language used today in the House of Commons to describe men, women and children seeking sanctuary are utterly unacceptable.

As Liz Truss is elected as the new #PrimeMinister, we urge her to address what are major failings within an asylum system that is in desperate need of reform, and to ensure that we alleviate the untold human suffering it causes, which in turn will help save the Government money.
