EXCL: A source with close ties to Hillingdon Council, with an understanding of its finances says the council 'is already bankrupt - they're just not declaring it' 👇 my interview and explanation of what we currently know #LDReporter https://t.co/9GHJa6vGUS
The budget report to be presented to Cabinet this Thursday identified numerous financial errors that dated back to 2013.
Just shows that Hillingdon Conservatives have been overspending for over a decade.
No one is surprised that Conservative run
@Hillingdon Council are seeking Exceptional Financial Support from the
Government. Their budget was based on estimates that were not robust. This is years of bad Tory administration. Their blaming of ‘everyone else but them’ is shameful
Correction - it is nearer £100 a month deficit for every household in @Hillingdon . Over £10M of additional council tax receipts now treated as doubtful.
The financial report to Hillingdon Conservative Cabinet on Thursday demonstrates what has been only too true for years; the Conservatives have run the council into the ground. But until now, they have covered up their failures by hiding the extent of their incompetence.
The figures show an increased excess of net expenditure of £36.9M in just four months. That has led to an application to Central government for a bailout. That is more than £100 for every household in the Borough.
The Secretary of State for Education The Rt Hon Bridget Phillipson visited our school. She had a tour of the school, spoke to children, meet Cyril our reading dog, saw a cooking group and visited the building works currently taking place for 2-year-old provision!
@premnsikka Although I understand the argument, it is the highest paid rather than the richest who benefitted the most. For those living on inherited wealth, it made no difference.
Phenomenal response and turnout today. Residents of Ruislip, Northwood and Pinner have had enough and are desperate for change, which only a Labour government can deliver.
Is Ruislip, Northwood & Pinner about to get our first Labour MP?
Whatever the national polls say, it's on an absolute knife-edge here.
You can make it happen, but only if you vote for @tony_gill91.
No Conservative Seat is safe, & a fish & chip shop is not going to make people vote for you @tuckwell_steve people want change and they want a government that will tackle the big issues like the cost of living crisis and the crumbling health service. Vote @DannyBeales on 4 July
@DanNeidle I think you may have overlooked the combination of the relief for the last 18 months of ownership and let property relief. This could well explain there is no liability.
